This article provides a walkthrough of a fire damper maintenance report using the Flow Mobile Surveying app. This walkthrough is based on the Fire & Smoke Damper Maintenance v2 template.
PS: Take a peek at the final report here
Here's the typical process to create a fire damper maintenance report.
These steps are carried out in the office using the Dashboard.
1. Log into the Dashboard.
2. Create a new job.
Note: If your preference is to create the report on-site, skip this step.
1. Navigate to the new job.
Before heading out on site, this section should be completed.
The content of these fields should already have been agreed with the client before work commences, so there's no need to wait until a surveyor is on-site.
The next steps are completed using the Mobile App while on-site.
Take a suitable photo of the building for your cover page and give it a caption. We recommend a relatively wide shot to make the site easily visible.
This is where you'll spend the bulk of your time in the app.
To add a new inspection item click on the Add Item button.
Or Copy an Existing Inspection Item.
Fill in all relevant data, then click Save.
On the day of the survey, were you unable to survey any areas from the pre-agreed scope? Type up some notes and take a photo here to record the variation.
Most of the items added here will be done via the Dashboard.
But you may want to add a rough sketch of your schematics while on-site. Simply take a photograph of your hand-drawn sketch and save it here so it can be converted into the final schematics and uploaded via the Dashboard later.
You can draw up your floorplans in a 3rd party floorplan software then upload these to the report via the attachments section.
Check out our guide to some of the floorplan software that's available.
This section is completed when you've checked the report and you're ready to issue it to the client.
Now that all the data has been entered you can Preview your Report then Download the Report or Share the Report URL with your client.
