You can sort records in ascending or descending order. This works for sorting data alphabetically, numerically, or by date.
1. Log into the Dashboard.
2. Navigate to the report and table.
Note: In the table below, you can tell there's no sort applied because there are no up/down icons on the column headers.
3. Click the column header you want to sort.
In this example, we'll sort by Building.
Here's the sort being applied.
You can see the data has now been reordered and shows items in alphabetical Building order.
To reverse the sort order (e.g. change to descending instead of ascending order), click the column header again.
The icon will change direction indicating the new sort direction.
Here's a nifty shortcut for you.
If you want to sort on multiple columns at the same time, you can hold the "shift" key on your keyboard.
Click the first column you want to sort by first, then hold down the shift key on your keyboard, and click the next column you want to sort by.
In this example, let's add another sort on Level.
Note: When multiple sorts are applied, the column number indicates the order of the sorts.
The items are now sorted first by Building then by Level.
You can repeat this process as many times as you want. Simply hold the shift key, then click the next column you want to sort on.
